Because Zamly is designed to support your daily Islamic practice in a personal way, some information you choose to share may be deeply sensitive. We treat that information with the utmost care and respect. We do not, and will never, sell your personal information.

1. Information you provide directly

When you use Zamly, we may collect information you choose to provide, including:

Account and profile information:
Your name, goals, preferences, and sign-in details if you use Apple or Google login.

Religious and practice information:
Information such as your selected Madhhab, prayer settings, fasting logs, and daily commitment trackers used to personalize your experience.

Journal and AI content:
Text entries, mood selections, audio notes, and photos you choose to create or upload when using journaling or AI features.

Notification preferences:
Your preferences for reminders and notifications.

2. Information collected automatically

When you use the Service, we may collect certain information automatically:

Location data:
With your permission, we may access your device’s precise location solely to calculate prayer times and Qibla direction. You can choose to use manual location instead at any time.

Device information:
Device type, operating system, app version, and push notification token.

Usage analytics:
Information about how you interact with the app, such as screens viewed and features used, to help us improve the experience.

Crash and performance data:
Technical diagnostics and crash reports to help us improve stability and reliability.

Subscription information:
Trial eligibility, purchases, subscription status, and entitlement data.

Widget data:
If you use widgets, limited app data (such as prayer times and completion state) may be used to display content on your home screen.

3. Information stored on your device

Some data, such as preferences, cached content, or widget settings, may be stored locally on your device and remains there until you remove it or uninstall the app.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information exclusively to:

  • Provide the Service: Deliver prayer times, Qibla direction, trackers, and core features.
  • Personalize your experience: Tailor content, reminders, and AI features to your specific journey.
  • Improve the app: Analyze usage, fix bugs, and optimize performance.
  • Manage accounts and subscriptions: Sync data and handle premium access.
  • Send notifications: Deliver the reminders you explicitly choose to receive.

Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party providers to help operate Zamly. We only share the minimum data necessary for these services to function.

Firebase (Google)
Purpose: Backend database, authentication, and notifications.
Data shared: Account details and app data to keep your profile synced.

Data shared: User identifier, purchase information, subscription status.

AlAdhan API & Apple Maps/MapKit
Purpose: Prayer time calculations and location search.
Data shared: Location input to provide accurate prayer times.

(Note: Payment processing is handled securely and directly by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store).

Data Retention and Account Deletion

We retain information only for as long as needed to provide the Service to you. You are always in control of your data:

  • Account and journal data: Kept while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account at any time within the app. Once deleted, your account and personal content are permanently removed from our active systems.
  • Analytics and diagnostics: Retained according to our third-party provider policies.
  • Local device data: Remains until removed from your device.

Data Security

We use appropriate safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), secure storage practices, and strict access controls. While no system is completely secure, we continuously work to protect your peace of mind and your data.

Your Choices and Controls

You have full control over your app experience:

  • Analytics & AI: Enable or disable in app settings.
  • Notifications & Location: Manage directly in app or device settings.

European Users (GDPR) & Your Privacy Rights

  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.

Zamly is not intended for children under 13 (or the applicable age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided information, please contact us.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date and notify you within the app.
